An Auction & New Short Stories
Ever wanted an annotated copy of one of my books? Today's your chance!
Hello, dear readers! Happy July(!) of 2024(!!) Things have been quiet on the publishing front for me, but I wanted to drop you a note to let you know about an auction for a worthy cause and to share some short story news (published and forthcoming).
An Auction
Today is the last day of the Romancing the Vote auction raising money for voting organizations Fair Fight and VoteRiders, and I’ve donated two items:
An annotated copy of one of my books (you pick which!). I’ve never given away an annotated book before so this is (currently) a unique item, and will forever be the first of its kind.
Signed/personalized copies of Briar Girls, plus book swag. These are “Buy It Now” items, so you can skip the stress of bidding and rest easy that once you click the button, it’s all yours. (But act fast - I donated eight copies and as of this writing, there are only three left.)
The auction ends July 5 (today!) at 8pm Eastern, and there are so many more wonderful items up for bidding, both for writers and for anyone who appreciates a good craft. I’ve had my eye on this series sampler from Kate Elliott (one of my favorite science fiction & fantasy authors) and this gorgeous crocheted umbrella in particular…
New Short Stories
I was last in your inbox sharing my short story “Guested” from the young adult horror Night of the Living Queers anthology. Some of you might not know that I published a second short story in 2023, in the adult science fiction & fantasy indie anthology Lofty Mountains. My story is titled “The Aerial Gardeners Shop” and involves disaffected retail employees and an unexpected enchanted garden gnome. I had a lot of fun with this one!
And lastly, I have a short story coming in the young adult alien invasion anthology Why on Earth, edited by Vania Stoyanova and Rosiee Thor, in 2025! Not to toot my own horn too much, but this story has already gotten reactions such as “exploring unusual pronunciations of the English word “me” took me OUT” and “I am ROLLING”. I can’t wait to share it with you next year.
All best,
Rebecca
PS: As always, you can order copies of my books from most retailers (my publisher has some handy links if you’re looking), or find them or request them at your local library. Thanks so much for reading. <3
