BRIAR GIRLS is out in paperback! (& other words from me)
Hello, dear readers. It has been a year since Briar Girls was first published, and in that time a lot has happened. Briar Girls was received so warmly by so many readers, librarians, and booksellers. It received several lovely trade reviews and was called “sex-positive” in no fewer than three of them (an accolade I was not seeking but am not sad about, if I’m being honest!). It was a New England Book Award finalist. Tor.com gave it a glowing review, saying, “Nuanced, innovative, and immersive, Briar Girls will bewitch queer fantasy fans.”
Nuanced! Immersive! Bewitching! I was a little gobsmacked about it all, to be honest! And today, Briar Girls is finally available in paperback wherever books are sold. Floppy! Light! More affordable! The perfect stocking stuffer!
Briar Girls will be my last full-length novel out for a bit, but 2023 will not be bereft of new words from me! I’m happy to say that I’ve written a short story that will appear in the YA horror anthology Night of the Living Queers, edited by Shelly Page and Alex Brown. I had such fun dipping my scaredy-cat toes into horror, and can’t wait to share my story with you!
I hope the last bit of 2022 brings you health, happiness, and good books. Until next time, happy reading!
Rebecca
